The Tony Platt Build Boston Scholarships

Build Boston was born in the mid-1980s when Boston architect and visionary Tony Platt FAIA recognized the collegial power of the building industry in New England. Tony assembled a small group of BSA members and allies to design and build this event that has become the model for industry collaboration in the US.

At the heart of Tony’s vision was his commitment to broadening the intellectual and professional opportunities for everyone in the industry—especially young professionals. To honor Tony, who died suddenly in late 1998, the BSA and Build Boston established The Tony Platt Build Boston Scholarships in 1999 for young design and construction professionals.

This year 500 professional-development scholarships are available for young architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, contractors, facility managers and other young industry professionals. Each of these full-tuition scholarships covers the cost of one Build Boston workshop. To download a copy of the application click here.
